Years’ experience in the property industry: I started working for Sanderson Young in 2024 – after many years in retail and wholesale sales management, I decided it was time for a change and the vacancy on the Rare team popped up at just the right time.
Favourite part of your job: Getting to know the team and meeting new and old clients. It is a real thrill to witness a property go from valuation all the way through to completion and handing the keys over to the happy buyer.
Most challenging aspect of your role: Managing customers’ expectations, it is always tricky to give disappointing feedback when we know how stressful the whole process is .
Best advice for clients: Although it sounds pretty obvious when selling, make sure you have a de-clutter and freshen up the home before a viewing. Leave underfloor heating on in the colder weather as many viewers take shoes off and can feel the warmth – an immediate Brucey Bonus. When buying make sure you listen to the advice from your estate agent and get your “ducks in a row” so to speak, get yourself in the best possible situation to be able to offer on a property.
Best way to spend your time away from work: With family and friends, walking the dog (preferably to a pub). Running and swimming obviously to balance the drinking and eating. Travelling to sunny places and reading a good book.
