Gosforth Shopping Centre, in partnership with Urban Green, brought us a fantastic, family friendly outdoor cinema experience for the first time last year to coincide with the King’s Coronation.
Thanks to the success of this event, it’s back for 2024. It will be a two day event on 8th & 9th June, with 7 film screenings from classics to family favourites. The idea is to bring people together whilst also fund raising to improve the facilities in Gosforth Park, and it hopes to be a boost to the local area, with knock on benefit to high street shops.
This year, the Gosforth community will get to vote for ‘The People’s Choice’ film. The winning movie will make it to the big screen!

Georgie Scott-Batey, manager of the shopping centre which was bought by Monument Real Estate last year, said: “The new owners want to make the centre a hub for the local community and improve, not only the retail experience, but also the surrounding areas, hence the fund-raising we are doing for the Park and the children’s play area. We’re happy to announce there will also be many other positive developments that we can all look forward to at the Centre this year.”
