Darras Hall, Ponteland & its surrounding villages, as well as the Tyne Valley, have always been some of the most sought-after places to live in the North East of England. With delightful countryside and greenery, charming villages, wonderful walks, cosy pubs, as well as excellent transport links throughout the region, more and more buyers are moving away from the hustle & bustle of city life to the quieter pace that Northumberland can offer.

Having grown up in Ponteland and then worked in the Tyne Valley and throughout the region, I have seen some exceptional homes coming onto the market in recent times from prices ranging from £400,000 up to £5 million.

In Darras Hall & Ponteland we have seen exceptional sales at the upper price end, with us selling wonderful homes on the prime streets of Runnymede Road, Darras Road, Western Way and Edge Hill and agreeing 12 sales in excess of £1 million since the beginning of the year.

Sanderson Young has also had great success selling in the Tyne Valley recently, particularly with some delightful stone-built homes located in villages just outside of Hexham, allowing buyers a semi-rural lifestyle whilst still being close to local amenities. Popular villages such as Corbridge, Riding Mill and Stocksfield all continue to prove exceptionally popular with buyers looking for charming and unique homes that would only be found in these locations.

It is a very positive market at the moment, where we have seen an increase in buyers starting to purchase at those upper price levels once again, who were deterred at the end of last year due to the uncertainty with the new Labour Government coming in and the Autumn Budget at the end of last year.
