Over the past few weeks, my team and I have seen a noticeable uplift in the property market within the Tyne Valley, particularly in some of the sought-after villages such as Corbridge, Stocksfield, Newton and Riding Mill. These areas have long been regarded as desirable places to live and recent activity suggests that demand is continuing to strengthen.
In Corbridge particularly, we are seeing an increase in the number of vendors choosing to bring their homes to market and reasons for this vary widely, from downsizers seeking a more manageable property, to families relocating for lifestyle reasons, or professionals attracted to the balance of village living with excellent transport links. This variety has created a healthy number of new listings, which in turn is drawing significant interest from a large range of buyers.
Over the past few weeks, we have been instructed on a number of properties, some launched fully to the open market and others handled discreetly on a “low profile” basis. Both approaches have generated an impressive level of enquiries and viewing requests, particularly at the higher end of the market. For example, we recently agreed a confidential off-market sale on a property guided at £2.5 Million, as well as securing a sale on another superbly located home in the heart of the village at £1.25 Million. The properties we currently have available are also attracting strong attention, with steady viewing levels and encouraging feedback from prospective buyers.
Corbridge itself continues to hold a great appeal for those looking to move. Its picturesque setting along the River Tyne, combined with its vibrant community and wide selection of independent shops, cafés, pubs, and restaurants, creates an enjoyable lifestyle. In addition, its excellent connectivity via the A69 and regular train services makes it a prime choice for buyers who wish to enjoy the tranquillity of village life without sacrificing accessibility to Newcastle and beyond.
All of these factors contribute to an increasingly buoyant local market, with Corbridge and the wider Tyne Valley proving once again why they remain among the most desirable addresses in the region.
