Magnificent Sales Success in Darras Hall

Over 35 years of my practice as an estate agent I have enjoyed immensely working in the beautiful areas of the North East of England, but, in particular, I have had many years’ experience in Ponteland village where I was first based in 1986 with Dudley Charlton, in the same building I now enjoy with Sanderson Young.

Darras Hall was always planned as an up market residential area where successful, professional and discerning purchasers would be able to enjoy magnificent private homes in a truly unique setting and with a minimum of a quarter acre of land.

Over the last 35 years we have seen the economy fluctuate tremendously and, certainly, in the last 14 years, since the financial crash of 2007, prices have altered and demand has been very patchy.

In the last 12 months I am pleased to report the highest levels of confidence, demand and purchasers showing keen interest in the estate. Some of the prime addresses including Eastern Way, Darras Road and Runnymede Road have experienced particularly strong demand.

In the last 12 months Runnymede Road has seen some fabulous sales and only recently in 2021 we have broken all time records for the highest property sales on 2 magnificent mansions which sold in excess of £5,000,000.

They are closely followed by 4 or 5 other dwellings where we have seen investment made of over £3,000,000 where people have bought land to develop or where existing mansions have been acquired and then extended.

The correct pricing of any housing is essential to achieve a sale and it is interesting to watch houses that may have been on the market for a long time suddenly being reappraised and remarketed with a different angle and then achieving success. I was delighted to see this on one of our properties on Runnymede Road only last week when a house that had been on the market for some time had a new approach and had an immediate sale which is very encouraging.

We have a number of other high quality homes coming to the market in the near future in the Darras Hall and Ponteland areas and I look forward to being able to help many of the buyers who would appreciate the quality of life within the village.

Ponteland is an amazing village which has some fantastic support facilities with magnificent coaching inns, restaurants and such a pretty picturesque village centre and church.

I am delighted that the residents of Darras Hall are now seeing such high levels of demand, returning confidence and good quality sale values.

I look forward to helping many prospective buyers in the estate and matching those with the right vendors to achieve the best possible sale price in the most effective timescale.
