Almost £20 Million of property agreed in July and August!
While the summer months are often associated with a quieter period in the property market, it has certainly been anything but for our Rare department, with almost £20 Million worth of property agreed in July and August alone.
The level of activity we have seen across the North East’s prime residential market is particularly encouraging and provides a strong indication that confidence is beginning to return among buyers at the upper end of the market.
Following a period where purchasers have understandably taken more time to make decisions, particularly due to the uncertainty in the government, increase in inflation rates and interest, as well as global factors, we are now seeing renewed appetite for exceptional homes, with well presented properties in the region’s most sought after locations continuing to attract serious interest.
For the Rare team, this increased activity has been reflected not only in the value of properties being agreed, but also in the quality and calibre of buyers we are engaging with. Those who have been waiting for the right opportunity appear increasingly prepared to act when the right property comes to market.
Our results during July and August give us considerable optimism for the months ahead. While the market will inevitably continue to experience some fluctuations, the return of confidence at these higher price levels is a welcome development and one we hope will continue throughout the remainder of 2026.
With almost £20 Million of property already agreed during the summer, it certainly hasn’t been a quiet one for Rare – and we look forward to seeing what the rest of the year brings.
