The Brexit word will continue to irritate the public throughout the country and there is no doubt that the division and opinion will continue to cause difficulties, not just for the government but all different types of politicians who have a variety of beliefs as to how we must move forward. The responsibility of government is to govern and to make difficult decisions, and we must move forward as quickly as possible to take away any uncertainties that exist, since it is only these uncertainties that cause difficulties to the housing market, with wild irresponsible and sometimes daft speculation on house price increases or falls, which rarely ever come through to fact.
Whilst writing this, only a few days before Christmas, the hits on our Sanderson Young website are at a record high for December at just under 7200 per week, and equating to around 30,000 for the month, which is a huge number of people looking at buying or letting a property and gives us great hope that we will have a high level of new properties coming to the market in the new year.
Our website represents a good number of these houses but equally we have, certainly within our Rare! Office, a quarter of the stock that are sold without internet exposure and the low profile marketing often attracts good quality buyers who are looking for something very special. New visitors to our website were up 69% in December compared to November, which is a clear indication that the pent up demand for people to move home will explode in January and onwards, creating a number of new sales and lets.
I am delighted that we will be launching, in the month of January, four fabulous new show homes and marketing suites, offering a diverse range of properties from the tremendously exciting Smiths Dock development in North Shields where we have 80 new apartments coming to the market, and in Wylam where we have the conversion of 13 fabulous apartments in a former detached house set within private gardens, to the new build of the Hemingway Court on the former library site in Ponteland which will also be launching its show apartment in the new year with beautiful accommodation and fabulous flats from £114,950. The last scheme will be the future build and release of show homes at Amble, where we are constructing a mix of town houses and bungalows, very close to the sea front and with fabulous walks nearby along this stunning coastline.
