Ponteland - Houses, Property and Homes to Rent and Buy

Perhaps no other location combines the elements of different communities so successfully as Ponteland. This is a great place to buy a house or home or rent a great property, it has good transport links (A696 and Metro rail system) means the area is hugely popular with Newcastle's commuters yet Ponteland has managed to retain its village character. You will feel at home when you buy a house in Ponteland, the main street boasts thriving local shops and pubs that are complemented by more modern facilities such as a large leisure centre and, two miles to the east, Newcastle's International Airport.

Buy a house or rent a property within the Ponteland, North East Area

Easy access to both Newcastle city centre and Northumberland's spectacular scenery has meant Ponteland has developed to provide a wide range of properties to suit a variety of tastes and budgets. The main residential areas offer a choice of smart bungalows and spacious family homes; at one end of the scale, a two bedroom semi detached home in the village centre costs around £220,000 whilst a magnificent modern country house on the outskirts of the village has just sold for £1,200,000.

Similarly the villages surrounding Ponteland, such as Callerton, Stamfordham and Dissington boast some mouth watering rural and semi-rural properties. These range from fine period country houses and breathtaking barn conversions to cosy cottages and traditional Northumbrian farmsteads. A newly built country house near the village of Dalton recently sold for £595,000.

Ponteland's close proximity to Newcastle (approximately 7 miles) disguises the fact that the village also lies on the edge of some of the most unspoiled scenery found anywhere in England. Hadrian's Wall, Northumberland's National Park and the forests of Kielder Water, (a centre for watersports, cycling, riding and walking) are 25 miles to the North West whilst Northumberland's famous sandy beaches are a similar distance to the north east.

With a central location, superb choice of property and excellent local schools, shops and leisure facilities, it is not hard to understand why Ponteland remains perennially popular with North East house hunters.
