The highly successful redevelopment of The Old Mill at Sturton Grange near Warkworth, Alnwick, Northumberland has received regional recognition in this year's LABC Northern Region Built In Quality Awards.
At a glittering event held at Slaley Hall on Friday 11 April 2008, the scheme was voted The best development in a housing or residential project of two or more units. Winning out over varied and high quality competition from other projects across the North of England. Developer, Tom Batey accompanied by the Contractor Mr David Tweddle and Matthew Tims from Consultant Building Surveyors for the project, Tims Morris of Hexham were presented with this much deserved award and will go on to the national finals of the LABC Built In Quality Awards to be held in London.
In only the second year of these awards, Sturton Grange continues the success of Alnwick District Council in closely working with private developers within the district. Sturton Grange was the only scheme proposed by Alnwick District Council in any of the ten categories this year and I am sure that it was particularly gratifying to see the district's only entry come out on top.
Sturton Grange has been developed into four unique, individual homes, constructed to the highest standards and set within stunning landscaped private gardens. Three of the four properties within the development are sold, with the final unit now released and currently available for sale. This property offers stunning four bedroom accommodation within the most generous site of the development, available at a guide price of £845,000. I am sure we would all want to wish Tom and his team every success within the national competition.
